Baking soda, also known as soda bicarb or sodium bicarbonate, is a white crystalline weakly alkaline salt. It is extensively used in beverages and as a leavening agent to make breads, cakes, pastries and other baked products. In medicine, sodium bicarbonate is used as an antacid, body cleanser and to replenish electrolytes in the body.

Baking soda is an excellent alternative to expensive and often harsh household cleaning products. It is a great deodorizer and can combat a variety of offensive odors in the house whether they emit from the refrigerator, microwave ovens, dishwashers, litter boxes, upholstery or trash bins.

Baking soda can be used to clean literally anything.... burnt pots and pans, blocked drains, musty books, dirty laundry, rugs, carpets, shoes, jewelry and even teeth and kidneys. From oral hygiene to skincare, baking soda is also used in a myriad of ways for personal grooming.
